Primo di sette fratelli debuttò giovanissimo nel coro del teatro Ristori di Verona. La prematura morte del padre lo costrinse a trasferirsi a Genova per lavorare come incisore e cantò nel coro della Chiesa delle Vigne. Studiò canto con il maestro Oreste Parodi e frequentò il Liceo Musicale Gasparini. Iniziò a cantare in vari concerti e venne ascoltato da Mascagni che lo ingaggiò per il suo tour in Inghilterra. Qui ebbe modo di debuttare all'Hyppodrome di New York in Cavalleria Rusticana. Concluso il tour si stabilì a Londra dove aprì un laboratorio ed ingaggiò vari operai. Qui mise a frutto la sua abilità di inventore ottenendo molti brevetti. Nello stesso tempo iniziò ad esibirsi nel Vaudeville. Qui venne ascoltato da Leoncavallo che lo ingaggiò per il suo tour inglese. Alla fine del tour litigò con Leocavallo a causa del compenso. Successivamente venne ingaggiato dall'impresario Castellano per un tour in Inghilterra ma, insoddisfatto per la scarsa paga, si licenziò e rientrò a Londra.. Nel 1914 rientrò in Italia per arruolarsi nell'esercito. Dopo la fine della guerra rientrò in Inghilterra e riprese la sua attività artistica accanto a quella commerciale. Durante un tour negli Stati Uniti si ammalò e dovette rinunciare alla scrittura. Durante l'inattività fondò la Vabest, proprietaria di vari brevetti industriali ancora in uso. Litigò con il maestro Sabajno, responsabile per l'Italia della Gramphone, poiché si rifiutò di pagargli una percentuale per ogni disco inciso. Sabajno lo ostacolò nella carriera artistica impedendogli di ottenere un ingaggio per La Scala. Non prese la tessera del partito fascista e perciò non potette cantare nei teatri italiani, salvo la presenza nel 1927 al teatro Adriano di Roma per alcune recite di Andrea Chenier nelle quali ottenne un grandissimo successo di pubblico. Dopo la seconda guerra mondiale si stabilì in Italia e riprese la sua attività di inventore. Riuscì ad inventare un nuovo metodo di lavorazione della sansa e questo gli fece raggiungere un notevole benessere. Nel frattempo continuò ad esibirsi in concerti privati. Nel 1953 iniziarono i primi segni dell'arteriosclerosi che lo condusse alla morte. Sue sono le prime incisioni dei brani della Turandot.

After the Second World War settled in Italy and resumed his activities inventor. He managed to invent a new method of processing pomace and this made him reach a remarkable prosperity.
