(Piana de' Galli/Palermo 1880 - New York 1928)

Studiò a Milano con il maestro Cairone e con Ferdinando Guarini, debuttò nel 1901 al Sociale di Casalmaggiore in Forza del Destino. Nel 1911 si trasferì negli Stati Uniti e dopo il ritiro aprì a New York una scuola di canto, la Mural Singing School. Malato da un anno morì mentre durante l'intervallo del concerto dei suoi allievi alla Carnegie Hall. Nel 1927 citò in giudizio il soprano Marie Vero alla quale aveva insegnato come cantare. Dopo due anni la ragazza a causa della sua povertà fu impossibilitata a pagare le nuove lezioni e fece un accordo che prevedeva il pagamento delle lezioni con i primi soldi guadagnati grazie alla sua voce. Così le lezioni continuarono fino all'anno prima. Ma quando Mauro chiese il pagamento la cantante volle che il maestro firmasse un foglio dove era scritto che lui non le aveva mai dato lezioni.

He studied at Milan with the teacher Cairone and with Ferdinando Guarini and makes his debut in 1901 at Sociale of Casalmaggiore in Forza del Destino. In 1911 he moved to United States where, after the withdrawal , opened a school of song, the Mural Singing School. Sick from one year died during the interval of the concert of his students at Carnegie Hall. In 1927 he sued the soprano Marie True to whom he taught how to sing. After two years the girl because of her poverty was unable to pay for new lessons and she made an agreement. She will provide for the payment of the new lessons with money earned through her voice. So the lessons continued until the year before. But when Mauro asked the payment, the singer asked him to sign a paper where he wrote he had never given lessons to the young soprano.
