Nata in una famiglia di modeste condizioni aiutava la madre, fabbricante di fiori finti. Grazie ad un benefattore entrò nel Liceo Musicale di Torino dove studiò con il maestro Bercanovich. Debuttò nel 1875 al Teatro Regio di Torino come Federica nella Luisa Miller. Si ritirò nel 1886 dopo le nozze dedicandosi all'insegnamento.
